ALvin b. Munson

CEO & FOUNDER

ALVIN B. MUNSON, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. At age 15, his parents sent him to Memphis, Tennessee, to finish high school. Always academically inclined, Munson enjoyed his years in school. In his autobiography, Memories of Me, "Rest in Pieces [My Back Pages]" (2010), Munson wrote, "My high school years were definitely reading years for me. I read hundreds of books in those four years. I was eating books for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My unquenchable thirst for knowledge was being fulfilled!" He referred to himself as "a certified bookworm."

After graduation, Alvin volunteered with the Memphis Literacy Council and became a community organizer. Over the years, he attended Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia, the Bard Clemente course in the Humanities, and Georgia State University, where he is currently a student.

As a business owner for most of his adult life, Munson understands the need for improving communication skills. He was encouraged to form a non-profit focused on literacy. 

Deanna Park-Jones

SECRETARY

DeAnna Park-Jones loves life. You might find her running a 26-mile marathon in Hawaii, doing comedy on the Atlanta Punchline stage, facilitating workshops, or spending time with her talented family and gifted grandchildren. She studied at Life Chiropractic, is a certified Naturopathic Practitioner through Ahimki Institute of Wholistic Theology, and is a 30-year professional Realtor.

Through her workshops, which include vision boards, she encourages and inspires participants to find their creative purposes to channel and manifest their goals and dreams in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

William Barton

TREASURER

William is native of Chicago, Illinois. He attended school on the south side of the Windy City. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, serving as a Combat Engineer. After leaving the military, he spent ten years in corporate America before operating his own Photo Shop. After much success, he moved south, settling in the south metro-Atlanta area, where he volunteers his time and energy empowering his community.
